Chicken Gyros Plate
Escape to Greece for a Greek Food Adventure as Greek-Cypriot Food Blogger Eleni Georges teaches us to make one of the most iconic Hellenic dishes, a traditional Gyros platter!
1.5hrs | 10 - 30 Guests | $35 per person
Gyro is a popular Greek street food dish showcasing a deliciously tender cut of meat. The word “gyro” means around, which perhaps refers to the fact that the meat spins around when cooking. Marinated meat fillets are typically stacked, cooked over a charcoal rotisserie and then strips are cut off. Popular meats used are chicken, pork, lamb or even beef, however it is pork that is the traditional choice in Greece. The main objective when choosing the meat cuts is for them to be tender and not dry so that you can recreate the succulence of authentic Greek gyro. If you have ever wanted to make gyro at home but didn’t have the right equipment you have to try this baked version. You’ll definitely appreciate the flavour and texture of the gyro in the end.

Born in Australia but moved to Cyprus when she was 3 until the age of 15 when she moved back to Australia with her family. Cooking has been in her blood and enjoyed growing up being in the kitchen with her mum, grandmother and aunties. Their passion and love for food was projected on to her and she is now doing the same while cooking with her two young daughters. Food blogging allows her to record her family recipes for safekeeping so that her daughters and everyone around the world can make them. As a result, traditional recipes will continue to be shared and cooked for generations to come. She has had the opportunity to collaborate with a lot of brands curating their food photography portfolio as well as creating delicious dishes using their products.
